It's a God Thing

This is my new Wednesday weekly segment for 2013.  God is definitely involved in our lives all the time but there are certain special moments that we can clearly see God's handprint.  I want to spend the 52 weeks of this year sharing with you these stories from past or present times in my life.  Giving God the credit and glory is my goal.
So I will begin with the recent Christmas snowstorm of 2012.  It was the first snow on Christmas since 1926 and it was a whopper, 10 inches here.  At Christmas dinner in the basement, we prayed that our power would not go out to keep us warm and to keep my air machine powered.  There were over 100,000 homes across the state without electricity.  We were humbled and grateful that we only lost power for 15 minutes during the week of outages. I know 'It was a God thing' and I am truly grateful.  When so many friends were without power, you can see your own blessings more clearly.

  1. I'm really glad you are doing this. And yes, it was a God thing that you had power. I'm so glad.

  3. Well Angie, it's another year and we're still here. Susan and I have had bit of a rough week starting last weekend. I'm back to work but Susan is still pretty rough; it must have been flu; guess who's getting a flu shot next year. I hope you're doing ok and rejoicing in the new opportunities that come with life. Keep up your good work! Love, Joel for all

  4. Angie, I am so grateful to God for not letting your electricity go out. I however assume that Wayne has made a provision for such failures with a generator. I trust that he has that backup unit ready and able to be powered up should the need arise. Weather predictions are for this to be a wet and cold winter with much snow for our area. But, when did the weatherman ever get it right? Love you. Robbie

  6. I LOVE this picture and have even posted it on FB before. Some of my favorite moments are when God just whispers in my ear, "I did that!" And I SO KNOW that He did. LOVE it! What a great new Wednesday idea, too. So thankful about your power! What a great God we serve. We were out of town and missed the big snowstorm of 2012. We CHOSE to go with friends to their cabin in south Mississippi with NO electricity and NO running water and NO indoor plumbing. We didn't have snow, but it was very cold and we did have rain. God blessed us with a wonderful time with our old friends (my CHS classmates) and we learned we could survive without the "necessities" of life. (Okay, I must admit that our friend Mike bought a small generator which we ran at night just so James coud have his c-pap...but NO heat except for the fireplace.) Anyway, back to your subject, LOVE those God moments....they are SO special! Love you, T.
