Way Back Wednesday.....A Good Start

Here I am at age 3.   This is one of my favorite pictures because I love pigtails.  It took me until 2 to get any hair to speak of, so by 3 I had enough to put up with a cute style.
In my daily Bible reading today was Psalm 119;9-10  ''How can those who are young keep their way pure?  By living according to your word.  I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.''
My church life began at First Freewill Baptist in Conway but I was too young to remember that.  I only know of what I've been told, which was that I used to ask the preacher if I could sing to the congregation after each Sunday or Wednesday night sermon.  After we moved to Sherwood, we attended Freewill Baptist in Jacksonville.  I remember loving children's church.  We learned Bible story songs like 'Lil Zacheus up in a tree' and 'Build your house on the Rock.'  We had puppet shows with messages about how to get along with others and sharing the Word.  I think it is a fundamental building block to take children to church so to begin their life's journey with a firm foundation.  It teaches them that church is part of life and not a now and then activity.  Also reading Bible stories to them at home is a good practice.  I don't know why but my favorite was the one with baby Moses in the basket.
Proverbs 22:6  ''Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.''
