Prayer

.

Prayer, the most powerful expression of love that you can use to benefit someone else.  I pray that two of my friend's battles with cancer will be used to draw others closer to God and that they will see His faithfulness throughout the trial.  Prayer doesn't change God, but changes us.  God uses each of our lives to accomplish His plan and purposes, even when we don't know why or how.  When we say 'use me for Your glory', we submit everything to His will, without a need for our approval.

  1. It is a mystery why He wants communication from us or why He hears us but I'm so grateful that He does. Think about I John 5 - if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. No doubt that the Father wants the Son to be lifted up and glorified. Well put!

  2. What truth you poured into a few lines! I must say that prayer is the most difficult area of the Christian life for me. It's HARD WORK, and I don't really understand how it works. I just know that we are supposed to commune with our Maker. I am presently memorizing Psalm 103 with September, and it is such a Psalm of praise. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

  3. We had a powerful prayer service at our church 3 weeks ago for a member who was given just 2 weeks to live. Praise God - she was at church and in remission on Sunday. Our God can do anything!

  4. Angie, you are such a blessing to me. Although you are younger than I am, you are my example to follow when times get hard. I heard yesterday on the radio that we need a 'flesh and blood example' to follow. One who is not perfect, but one who keeps to the path toward becoming more Christ-like, confessing failures and sins, but looking forward to that blessed hope which is yet future. Love to you and your family, grace

  6. I agree with the other comments--such wisdom in these few lines. A hard thing to do to say "use me for your glory--regardless of what that brings" but I believe that is exactly what God wants from us and for us to lean on Him completely during our difficulties. Mom
