Wisdom is better than strength, but so many rely on themselves without ever seeking the Truth and gaining any wisdom. Knowledge is power and the more we know, the better we can apply it to our lives.
A common mistake in Bible reading is taking a verse out of context to justify wrong thinking. We see this often in media interviews so that what they report is far from what was truly said.
'I do not put my trust in the wisdom of man'...including myself.....'but in the power of God.'
Yesss! My English professor used to talk about taking things out of context. He told us that if you paired the verse, "Judas went and hanged himself" with the phrase, "Go thou and do likewise" you could see that taking things out of context can actually be dangerous... ha!
ReplyDeleteSince the beginning of time we have wanted to be in control, finding justification for the way we want things done. We must be a bunch of sinners (violators of the rules). Good blog Love you........Dad
ReplyDeleteAmen, sister! How we want to be in control of our lives. There is a poem that says, "I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul." How I hate to think what that man must have experienced when he met his Maker.
