Shake It





    'Staying quiet doesn't mean I have nothing to say, it means I don't think you're ready to hear my thoughts.'  Who's with me on this one?
     Oh my goodness, I sometimes think my mind has a mind of it's own.  It's either on non-stop mode, critical mode, repeat it mode or daydream mode when I wish I could shake it all out.  They say sin always starts in the mind and I believe that to be true.  The devil can only tempt us but we make the choice to act on it.  'Thou shalt not murder' includes not only the physical act but also your hateful thoughts.
    Philippians 4:8  ''Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.''
    'Defeat bad thoughts by replacing them with something better.'  Yes, subtract the negative and add the positive.

  1. Oh, that I had been as consistent ALL the time in memorizing and meditating on the Scriptures as I am SOME of the time. It really does work to direct our thoughts toward the right things, if only we do it. God help us to make His Word a priority in our lives. Good word for the day, as usual, Angie.

  2. So timely. God just convicted me of how my internal dialogues are basically all about me - usually "proving" I'm right as I rehash some conversation or dialogue that didn't go my way. I think He showed me that I can focus on HIm or I can focus on mself but not both and now your blog goes right along with what He convicted me of this morning. Definitely I need an etch-a-sketch mind... Thanks.

  3. Oh, geez, HOW did you get inside my head and read my mind? AND, if I could only learn to keep quiet instead of not being able to resist the urge to "tell it like it is"!! You hit me hard this morning, girlfriend....shaking my head like an etch-a-sketch and starting over! Love you, T.
