Shh.. Listen

He cares for us with an everlasting, gracious love. He is the God of all comfort. simplysharingandserving.weebly.com

Can you hear Him in your sufferings?  He is the Comforter of all. Sometimes we get so caught up in what we are going through that we miss the nudges of His purpose.  When we pay attention to the little things, then we will see the great blessings bestowed on us.
I've not felt well since Wednesday but I'm going to share with you the whispers of God to me and not the trial.  I've had no fever.  I've had sufficient medicine to clear things up.  I've had great care from people who truly care about me.  I've had friends praying for me and anxious to visit with me when I'm better.  I watched a movie with a friend and it pointed out how much we are worth to God and how our lives are about a transformation, not just a destination.  I've seen His healing grace make sick friends well recently.  I've seen people far away being used as a vessel to share the gospel with others.  God is the ultimate multi-tasker, as He is constantly there for us and working for our good.  Therefore, look for the good.
So I find comfort in seeing God's hand at work all around me.  The noise of our trials is often our inner voice trying to 'fix' things over and over in our heads.  Shh... Listen for the whispers.

  1. Angie,

This is such a beautiful post! Thanks for these GOOD words. I have another praise. I have not been feeling very well this week: nothing awful but a low level ongoing headache. It was worse today and kept persisting. I prayed about it, telling the Lord that if He did not want to take it away that is okay but if it was His will if he could. Mom suggested drinking some Coke with some pain killer, and a few hours later, I noticed the headache was gone. It may come back, but I'm thankful for that reprieve. Thankful for His many ways of healing us. Love you,

    Mary

  2. This may be your best devotional thought ever, Angie. Thank you for being so sensitive to the "still small voice of God." Oh, how blessed we are to have a Savior who knows our every need and is here--always here.

  3. This post is one of my favorites, too. How important it is to look for the good. You are such an optimistic, positive person and this message is just so "you". I want to always seek out His goodness...and His will....by hearing His voice, and you are right...we have to be quiet and listen in order to do that. Thank you for this sweet word...love you, T.

  4. What an encouragement this word is to me. If I'm not careful, the pain blocks out His still quiet voice. I love you, Angie
