Worry

Cats don't worry. They dream. :)

Have you ever stopped to think about things you've worried about in the past?  Did things not turn out for good, even if the journey wasn't easy?  'Worry is a misuse of imagination.'  I know I've thought of the craziest what-if scenarios but you can go insane with that kind of thinking.
'Worry is a burden God never meant for us to bear.'  He wants us to hand it over to Him because He is the controller over each of our worlds.  Worry is a cycle to nowhere.  'What worries you masters you.'
Nothing in life is final, except death.  You can rebuild, you can try again, or change your ways but there are second chances out there.  If there is one thing to truly worry about then it's your eternal destiny.  If you are unsure or following wrong ideas, then you need to shine some Light into that shadow.  People often do sweat the small stuff but put off thoughts that truly matter.  Worry, like when you're in a hurry, leads only to a scurry and a fury.
Worry will steal your joy and keep you busy doing nothing. Worry will also keep you preoccupied in a holding pattern until you see what God had planned all along.

  1. I think most all of us worry needlessly. I know I do but I am also glad I know who to turn my worries over to that can do something about them; the Lord. Mom

  2. Descending from a long line of negatives and worriers, I relate very well to this post, Angie. It is something that I fight, being fear prone, but I cannot let it best me. Several passages of Scripture are my go-tos when I begin to worry--Isaiah 40:31,Isaiah 26:3, 1 Pet.5:7, and my life verses, Phil.4:6-7. What an awesome God we serve to give us what we need in His Word, carrying us through the tough times--whatever they are that would control our lives.

  3. Gloria said it so well. It seems that many of our generation had parents, especially mothers, who "worried" about almost everything. I think my mother considered it her "duty" to "worry"! I always said she would not have been happy if she had not had something to worry about! Like Gloria, I fight that tendency to even think that worrying will change anything. I love the verses she stated above....God is faithful to lead us, guide us, direct us. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "He knows the plans He has for us...." and I know that HIS PLANS are much better than mine. Romans 8:28 also gives us that assurance. Love you, and get some rest! T.

  4. Ooh...the worry monster. It loves to attach itself to me. Proverbs 3:5-6 has been my life verse. It's a very appropriate on since I tend to worry and need that reminder to Trust Him who has it all under control

  5. Angie, it's been forever since I've talked with you. The truth is that I've been way to busy. I can do better. After being in the middle of seemingly endless work, one finally sees the futility of trying to catch up. Even if it seems like a luxury, rest is necessary. Thanks for this posting on worry. Hope you are ok. Joel
