All Gone?

Blessed Be Your Name O Lord!!!!

As you think of and pray for the North Texas tornado victims of last night, do you consider how you would handle such devastation?  For most, it was just physical lost coupled with memories.  Would you just be grateful that your life was the only thing spared?  Is that enough to you?
All that we have is God's first.  We are given the responsibility to care for what we have been allotted in this life but that doesn't make it more of ours than God's.  If something is taken from us, there is a purpose to it even when we don't understand why.  Is your trust in God thru all things infallible?  Will you praise Him in the hurt as well as in the joy?
Life is a balance of gives and takes but do you say 'blessed be His name' in all of it?  'When all the world should be as it should be' and 'when the darkness closes in', what will your heart choose to say both?  Isaiah 26;3  ''You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.''

  1. I think this is something we all wonder about... If such and such happened, what would I do? HOnestly, I hope I'd follow your example.

  2. Our possessions are only here on earth and when we die none of them will go with us, build up your treasures in heaven and then you will have something for eternity. Dad

  3. Thank you, Angie, for this thought-provoking post. This is something that my friend who is struggling right now and I have talked much about. God is on the throne in great abundance and in great need. Our response to Him in both shows who we really are. Thank God this precious friend, even in dark times, turns to Him and realizes His joy, though her sadness is heart-wrenching. And as Cathie said, I pray that I will always do the same.

  4. I struggle with this also, and often wonder how would I respond and what would I do in situations of great loss or heartache? I would pray that I would have a Romans 8:28 attitude, but would I? I know that God supplies all our needs, but He supplies them WHEN we need them, and seldom before. I would pray that my trust would be even stronger during those times than in the "good times". Like Cathie, I hope I would follow your example too. Love you, T.
