It's a God Thing
How well did you sleep last night? Did you toss and turn all night? Often a bed that has been slept in overnight looks like a frazzled mess by morning.
I started having to use a breathing machine to sleep at night about twenty-one years ago. The type of machine has changed over the years. The one thing that has remained the same is having to sleep on my back in one position all night long. Yes, every night for over two decades. You might be saying 'I couldn't do that I have to sleep on my side or move around or how ever you like to sleep.' I thought the same things back in 1992. The 'God thing' is the peace and rest He has given me each of these 7,665 nights to let go of my body's desire to move around. This is what 'Be still and know that I am God' means in part to me. He is in control and can give us the rest we need, when we turn our burdens over to Him.

That is amazing, Angie. Don't we often wonder how we could ever would ever be able to do this or that? And then when the time comes that we have to, God provides us with all the strength and ability to do it, and even gives us peace and rest through it? He doesn't give us the grace to get through something until we need it...but then at that time He supplies what is required and then some. What a great God is He...how thankful am I! Sleep well, sweet friend....love you, T.
ReplyDeleteYep! That's a God thing, alright. When I think about staying in one position all night, I get antsy. What a testimony to the power of God even in the little things! I love it and so appreciate having the God who cares about every aspect of our lives.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another glimpse at your life. When I am unable to sleep and the Lord brings you to mind, I will pray for you. It is the Lord who sustains us whether or not we are conscious of it. Have a great day. Joel
ReplyDeleteI understand. Clay has to sleep on his back too and can't move all night. A person never knows what they might do until they have to walk in the shoes their given. I admire your attitude so much and the blessing you have become to me and others. I look forward to your daily blogs.

you are amazing - I wondered how you handled lying on your back all the time, did you want to turn, like having an itch and can't scratch? God is good
