Winter

Yes, I know it is January and this cold weather is to be expected.  I don't have to like it but just endure it.  This too shall pass, however so slowly it seems.  The temperature today is lower than my age so it's going to take a fire or a really good sale to get me out of the house.  I don't like to bundle up because it interferes with my ability to move.
We can endure, tolerate and survive through more than we think we can.  My two years living in the Chicago area is proof of that.  I thought I was a frozen dead woman walking up there in the land of no sweet tea.
I feel for the homeless, both human and animals, on days like these.  Be sure to be thankful for the things we often take for granted...heat, power, shelter, warm clothing and security.

  1. I tend to forget the passage about doing all things without murmuring or complaining on cold days. I, too, am a warm weather kind of gal. A blogger friend in Minnesota put pictures on her blog of what she had to wear in order to go out into the weather. I decided that 30 degrees and a coat aren't so bad after all!

  3. This made me think of Philippians 4:13...."I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Maybe the cold weather isn't tough for some, but for others it is. I am like you stated in your last paragraph....I so often think of those poor people and animals who are literally out in the cold. In those moments, I voice again to Jesus thanks for my warm house and comfy bed. I pray I will never take them for granted. Love you, dear friend....T.
