Change

How many times have you wanted things to be different but are unwilling to change? Whether it's work, relationships or whatever you're not happy with, make a plan of change. People complain about different aspects of their lives but the idea of doing something different hasn't entered their minds yet.  So much talent is lost in the world because people lack the courage to show it.  It does take desire and courage to take action in a different direction, other than your routine.  It's not going to be easy but it will be worth it.
This is true also in becoming a new believer.  Your perspective will change and choices should too.  Your desire for a relationship with God will help you to let go of your wants of the old self.  To stay strong, we need daily encouragement to not fall back.
How strong is your desire to fly?  Is the fear of change holding you back?  A whole new way of living in this world awaits you.  Take the first step out of your cocoon.

  1. Great advice and insight, Angie. I've certainly found this to be true in my own life. It's not until I'm desperate enough or broken enough that change usually happens. Maybe i can learn to change before I get too desperate. Betsy

  2. Our pastor used to quote from the Narnia books - God is good but He's not safe... Yet, as you say, there is something so much better waiting when we let go and agree to fly with HIm.

  3. I believe it was William Carey (1st missionary to India) who said "Attempt great things for God, expect great things
from God". Pray, get direction and go for it, change your life. Most successful people have failed a number of times,
Henry Ford went bankrupt, Thomas Edison failed at the light bulb a number of times, the guy who invented WD-40 failed 39 times.Dad

  4. Sometimes those "great things" we attempt for God seem so puny in our eyes. I often wonder when I get to glory what things He will praise and what He will dismiss as trivial. It is just being willing to become a butterfly that is the difficult part sometimes, isn't it? Metamorphosis isn't an easy task! Thanks for the encouragement, Angie. Needed, as always.
