A God Thing

Overwhelmed

The other day, my dad was working on the sprinkler head in the front yard.  As he was busy with it, he saw the golf cart start moving on its own and headed down the hill.  He jumped up and chased after only to go splat in the driveway.  All he could do now is watch as it made its way toward the street.  Thankfully, it hit a rock and turned around and stopped.  The rock was definitely a Rock thing.
I think we see this often with others, if not within ourselves.  Seeing others on the road to danger or disaster and feeling as if we have nothing we can do to stop it.  We can chase after them only to be ignored or yell warnings to watch out and be turned a deaf ear.  Prayer is the best intervention.  Sometimes hitting that rock bottom is what turns people around.  'Lead me to that Rock that is higher than I.'
In all things, pray continuously.  God doesn't give up on us so don't give up on His ability to intervene.

  1. Good reminder--which I needed. I have been praying for some relatives for a long time and I sometimes feel like giving up. God is still there and can still answer the prayer--in His time. Mom

  2. It is true. I think one of the hardest things is to realize that we can't control (fix, change) what a loved one may be doing or where they may be headed. But, as you said, He is the rock and He can...

  3. I pray the next time I will make it to the grass rather than the concrete before I go "splat". Dad

  4. Thanks for sharing this with us. I love it.
We are at the moment in Dallas and will be leaving tomorrow @ 4:20 p.m. We thank God that Lufthansa's cabin crew quit striking yesterday!
    Lots of love.

  5. So glad your dad didn't get hurt! I can just see that happening....and so thankful the golf cart did not make it to Kellogg Road!! And especially not while a certain trike was going by! I would not want to be confronted by a runaway golf cart while cruising along on the trike! I do not think that would be a happy meeting. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE those little God things!! And I see them EVERY DAY...and feel His presence ever so close to me. Love you, dear friend....T.

  6. That is a great thought, "Don't give up on God's ability to intervene." That will guide me through this day. Thanks, Angie. Joel
