Starting Over

Strength

I think starting over is one of the hardest things in life because we often do not like change.  We can't stand still tho or keep going around in circles, we must move ahead.  It may pertain to a job or a relationship but whatever it is, it requires strength and courage.  The end of anything is just a new beginning to something else.
We've all started over at something and it's a scary, stressful place to be.  Our trust in Him is definetely tested beyond our comfort level.  We sometimes have to consider things that were never even thought about before and try new things.
2 Corinthians 9:8  ''And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.''  If only we could remember this and reassure ourselves in those doubtful moments.
So today if you are starting a new job or just starting over a new week, draw that needed strength from the One who provides for all our needs.

  1. Thank you, Angie. You are definitely an exhorter, a wonderful encourager. God supplies our needs in many ways, and through you He has supplied me with much joy--and gratefulness. May His blessings rain on you. I love you, dear, dear little sister.

  2. Thanks for the encouraging words...we need them over here. (By the way, I have been reading your blog, sorry I haven't commented lately. I'll get back to my normal commenting self when things settle down around here). Love you sweet friend!

  3. I am so much better at persistence than I am at starting over. That starting over just cancels out everything (though I know I have learned from where I am) and makes me so upset. I remember one time I was preparing my "presentation" (if you can call it that) for a ladies' retreat and, after a LOT of research and writing on the computer, I lost the whole thing. I tried to retrieve it...James tried to retrieve it for me....all to no avail. I truly cried. I thought, "Lord, this if for YOU....please give it back to me!" Did not get that copy back! However, He started me from "scratch" and gave me so much more than I had originally, plus a lesson in "starting over". I still don't like it...that starting over. Although I always did like the phrase, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again", it seemed good advice for my children or my friends. I (capital I, BOLD I) was supposed to do it right the first time. That attitude may have come from my Dad, who used to tell me, "If it is worth doing, it is worth doing right...do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again." Good advice to work toward. However, another good one is, "If it's not right the first time, do it OVER....until you get it right." Thank you, sweet friend, for this wise word this morning. I pray I will commit to my "do overs" with a loving heart and thankfulness, knowing God is making it better the second (or third) time around. Love you, T.
