80's Hair

Actually this picture is from Sept 1990 but I was still sporting the hairstyle of the 80's. If there was ever a day in my life so far that I've felt like yelling 'I'm on top of the world' then it would be this day. I certainly wasn't wise at this age and had bookoos still yet to learn but I was happy in a worldly sense.
I think the decade of the 80's was the best. The music was awesome and the fashion was hip.  As you can see, BIG hair was the desired look.  If your hair didn't stand up and out two or three inches, then you were just flat out of it.  Teasing your hair was a national pastime back then. I bet you could see 20 faces in the girl's bathroom mirror at school at one time, all with a teasing comb in hand. Oh yes, and don't forget the hairspray!  Who knew we were destroying the ozone layer?
Maybe it's a sign of age when your favorite decade is the one you grew up in but that's okay, it also means you lived thru it.

  2. You look beautiful with 80's hair! I had the same do...but longer and curlier (gotta love a perm). The 80's did have some great music. Here's to living through many more decades!

  3. Oh my!! Could I EVER show you some pictures of BIG hair, girlfriend! Remind me to share some with your someday! Those were the days, my friend....we thought they'd never end....and for some of us they didn't....LOL! I still like my hair kinda big, but NOT AS BIG! Just call me Dolly Parton....as related to HAIR ONLY! I still like my hair kinda big....I think because it is so thin and I just don't "look right" with it so close to my head, ha! I was also very skinny back in the 80's (some things DO change)....bet we would have looked like twins back then, Angie....what a compliment to me that would have been! Thanks for the memories, dear friend....it was a fun time. One night we were at Cajun's Wharf and Tommy Riggs, who was performing there that night, announced to the audience, "We have Farrah Fawcett's sister here with us tonight...WATER FAUCETT"! He was talking about me and my big look-like Farrah hairstyle!! Taking up too much of your blog space....need to get my own, I guess! Love you bunches, T.

  4. I love it! Charity had some big hair back then, too. One time she got a perm, and her grandparents were visiting. She asked her grandma, "How do you like my new hairstyle?" Mom said, "If you ask me it's indicative of the sickness of society." Dad looked at her and said, "Honey, I think you're beautiful." She surely did love her granddaddy!
    love, Gloria
