Phil.3:6-7: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus."
Isaiah 40:31: "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10: "They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint."
Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
I like order and routine but life is often disrupted by chaos. How do we handle it and react to it? Often it is best to just go with the flow. ''No matter how much structure we create in our lives, no matter how many good habits we build, there will always be things that we cannot control — and if we let them, these things can be a huge source of anger, frustration and stress.'' ''What is going with the flow? It’s rolling with the punches. It’s accepting change without getting angry or frustrated. It’s taking what life gives you, rather than trying to mold life to be exactly as you want it to be.''
The best way to go with the flow is to recognize Who is in control of your life. The caption's picture above symbolizes 'surrendering' to me. Whatever comes my way, I know God brought me to it and will bring me through it. Does my anxiety, worry, or doubts help me? No, but the peace of God does.
May we learn to be calm, relaxed and patient in the bumps that interfere with our smooth flow in life. Hand it all over to the One in control of it all.
Oh, how I so need to "go with the flow". I get so frustrated and impatient when my apple cart gets upset. Praying to be much better at being flexible and trusting....especially trusting!! Thank you for this much needed word today, dear friend....T.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot be like the "salmon" swimming up stream every day,
ReplyDeletesome times we must turn around and "go with the flow", and trust God who is in control. Good advise, sometimes we should follow it. Love you, Dad.
I see it in you all the time, but it's also good to hear it from you, especially when the salmon are all swimming upstream and you just CAN'T. But you somehow seem to create your own flow, or let the Lord create it for you. You are something else, friend! love, love, love
ReplyDeleteOnce again, so appropriate!! I just had a situation occur that tempts me to be anxious. Thank you for the comforting reminder that all I can do is give it to the Lord! Praying that the Lord gives you the calm you need to get through your storms. Love you!

ReplyDeleteGreat, encouraging words of scripture that we cling to in the hard times in life. No, worrying doesn’t help things; it may even make things worse; but prayer does. That is how we can turn the burden over to the Lord and get that peace that surpasses all understanding. God tried to make it easy to turn things over to him; but we make it hard. We know in our hearts that all things are possible with God—we must accept that in our mind.
Love,
Mom
Thanks. I like this.
