Friday Foto and Blog

This week has gone by so fast so this is the picture of the week.  Karla brought me these pretty tulips today and my Aunt Corene sent me this handpainted valentine card she made.  Love is in the air.
We are told to encourage each other on in love so my question to my readers is ''How were you encouraged by someone this past week?''  Please share in the comments or email it and I'll post it. I think it inspires us all to hear examples.
I read in a devotional..... 3 ways to encourage each other..... 1]  Spend time with someone who does something better than you and learn from them, 2] Find a prayer partner, 3]  Spend time and share with someone who is a step behind you in their journey.

  1. I was encouraged by Buddy Head as he preached at his mother's funeral, by the confidence he displayed, that death on earth was just phase we go thru to reach eternity with Jesus. She was not an angel, and is not looking down on us here on earth, she has her eyes fixed on Christ. Dad

  2. I was encouraged by a friend recently diagnosed with cancer who will begin chemotherapy this Tue. Her attitude is amazing--she said regardless of the outcome she is 78 and has lived a good life! She puts her trust in the Lord and is a great example to everyone. Please join me in praying that the chemotherapy will be effective. Mom

  3. I thought of another encouragement this week. I went to see a soon to be 98 year old friend in the hospital who had broken her pelvis. As usual she was smiling and happy and had friends and family around her. I asked her how she was doing and she said "I'm having the time of my life". Oh, attitude in bearing our burdens is so important. This is another Christian friend who would say--'I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to do that which I've committed unto Him this day'. Mom

  4. This may sound odd but I have been greatly encouraged by a woman I've never met - Kelly Minter - who wrote the Bible study I'm currently doing. Her words speak to my heart basically every single day. I usually can't wait to do my Bible study. But along with that, I have to say that the ladies in my Bible study group are a great example and encouragement to me because they both have such steady, strong walks with the Lord. And then there is you, my friend. Your walk with God amazes me because of the adversity that you deal with every day and yet your faith is strong. I know there are times when you get discouraged and times when you have pity comments about the snafus of the day (which I love to hear!) but your heart always points true North to the Morning Star and I never hear, "Why me?" and I never see you giving up.
