I cannot be more adamant about the message of this caption and I'm speaking from prideful experience. We all want to do things independently and our own way but those thoughts are pride's lure and we shouldn't take the bait. I agree wholeheartedly that it is not easy to ask for or to accept help from anyone. We all fear the display of our weaknesses to others but why?
''But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.''
2 Corinthians 12;9
Our church camp's verse for the week is... “Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus” (Hebrews 12:1). We must look at our circumstances and see how the glory of God can shine through it, whether in giving or receiving a blessing.
God has blessed me with a great resource of people who help me to show God's love to others through transportation, finances, food, gifts, and more. No, I can't do it on my own and it would be less of a blessing to me if I didn't share the joy with those who help me.
Some of my favorite verses... Love the perspective.
ReplyDeleteThe joy that you spread is immeasurable. God has indeed blessed you, more than most, with the resources to do what you do. I think that you are a prime example of Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over--will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." In some many ways, God has made you a role model to those around you. As I have said many times, I thank God for bringing you into my life.
ReplyDeleteI will use outside resources when needed, however 1 Thess 4-11,12 has been a couple of verses that I believe apply to me;
ReplyDelete" and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody."
I am thankful for the resources that are available to me when needed.
Love you...........Dad
