Psalm 57

Psalm 57:7

I missed yesterday's sermon on Psalm 57 so I thought I'd check it out myself.  I liked both of the captions above regarding this Psalm by David.  I think they both illustrate how God can be the only One to revive and renew our hearts through His grace.  When our hearts are fixed and confident in God, then nothing should deter us from telling others about how He has worked in our lives.  We should wake up every day thanking Him for another day to share our song with the world around us.  I think these lyrics from 'I could sing of your love forever' say it best......
''Over the mountains and the sea

Your river runs with love for me
And I will open up my heart
And let the Healer set me free
I'm happy to be in the truth
And I will daily lift my hands
For I will always sing of
Of whenYour love came down
[Chorus:]
I could sing of Your love forever''

  1. Okay, I wish I had read your blog BEFORE I emailed you today! But thank God I can say that "my heart is fixed," only because the Lord Jesus, through His Holy Spirit, has fixed it once and for all time. Hallelujah for that!

  2. I just read this evening that the first thing Muslim parents say to their newborn is a prayer about the greatness of God. Before they say anything else to their baby, they whisper this prayer in the child's ear. And devout Muslims teach their children to say this simple prayer every day, repeatedly, starting first thing in the morning. While I'm not a Muslim by any means, there is some wisdom in this. I like the way you put it - we should wake up every day thanking Him for another day to share our song with the world around us. By the way, I think I have this song on one of my CD's by the Martin family. I know I've listened to it a thousand times - need to get it out again. There are so many new songs coming out that the older ones get lost in the shuffle sometimes.
