No Excuses
The Bible is not like trail mix, where you pick out the parts you like. It should be more like a sponge to you, where you absorb all you can of it.
John 14;15 '' “If you love me, keep my commands.'' John 14;23-24 ''Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.''
Excuses...I'll bet God has heard them all. The Bible includes all of us in the commands we are to obey. There is no exemption clause to add your name to in the back of The Book. Sin begins in our minds when we try to justify what goes against God's word.
The Bible is God breathed words that will never change no matter how one may try to twist it, shake it, and rattle it into your own version.

Very true and very well said. Mom
ReplyDeleteI love this... No doubt, God has heard every excuse in the book... I'd just never thought of it that way... Guess I need to give Him a break and dog off on my own pet excuses!
ReplyDeleteWhat amazes me is that just when I think I am "getting it all together," I go back to the Scriptures, and even in passages that are so very familiar to me, God brings conviction of sin or teaches me something that it seems I should have learned many times ago. His Word is an amazing collection of Truth!
ReplyDeleteNo excuses!!!!!!!!! So what is my excuse for not responding to this blog??
ReplyDeleteSome blogs are easier to respond to than others and this one is more difficult than some others, so anyway. No excuses. A search of the internet reveals that a third of the worlds population is christian, really??
Christians believe in the scripture based on faith, we do not directly see Him as we see the neighbors new boat, we see his works, but not Him. Sincere believers live by His commands and seek to do his will, and we fail often, we ask for forgiveness and try again tomorrow. Sin is a powerful force in the world and in our weak bodies. We have no excuse for not following His example except in our sinful nature and we are doomed for failure and that is why Jesus paid for our sin. A debt He did not owe, a price we could not pay. Trust and Obey. .............Dad
We also cannot pick and choose what parts of life we wish to apply, either. God didn't promise us an easy life; He promises us help to live it. The Bible is that help. It has the answers to every situation and every circumstances....if we could just always remember to apply it! Thank you, sweet friend, for yet another great word. Love you, T.
