Surrender

"Surrender is strength" quote via www.Facebook.com/PrincessSassyPantsCo

    'The world wants our best but God wants our all.'  Yes, He wants us to surrender our will for His.  Surrender is usually associated with negative meanings but in God's eye there can be no greater victory for the soul.
     "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it." Matthew 16:25   Surrender is complete obedience to God.  One of our best examples is Noah,  who was the only man on earth at the time that pleased God.  Do we trust and obey when we face what we don't understand?  Nobody likes half-hearted effort, including God.
    'One of life's most bittersweet moments is when you finally realize you don't have it all figured out.'  'The greatness of a man's power is in the measure of his surrender.'   If we don't surrender to Christ, we will surrender to chaos and idols.
    Hitting rock bottom is one of the toughest moments in people's lives but it can be a surrendering catalyst.  We then realize we've tried everything in our own power and it's never enough.  God allows all this so that we may see our need for a Saviour more clearly.

All to Jesus I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

  1. Good post Angie. We find it verey difficult to surrender anything in our culture today as we are taught to compete for nearly everything. You see the world differently than most of us as I envision you see this world on one level and recognize that you are just passing thru, and on a different level you see many of us completing for jobs, money, security and personal goals, and we get caught up in that so much. That we have a hard time surrendering to God. Love you Dad

  2. What a true statement: "Hitting rock bottom is one of the toughest moments in people's lives but it can be a surrendering catalyst." I'm not sure that surrender can come until we admit defeat--we just can't do it on our own or understand it all, not matter how hard our finite bodies and minds try. If we would just, "Give it all, give it all to Jesus."

  3. Yep, the older I get the more I realize that I don't have it all figured out. Glad I serve the One who does.

  4. I can hear my sweet Mother singing that old gospel hymn even now. We so often sung them....even memorized them....without thinking about the words and the truth they held. You are absolutely right that many times it takes a "downfall" or an "allfall" in order to recognize our need for Jesus. Also reminds me of Carrie Underwood's first big hit, "Jesus Take the Wheel". So many times when we find that Jesus is all we have, He is all we need. Nothing else can take His place ever. I pray I will give it all to Him in every circumstance...happy and sad. Love you, my friend....T.
