Air to Share

Okay so this is pretty much my growing opinion and attitude toward smoking as I grow older and weaker.  I used to be married to a smoker so my tolerance has dwindled, to say the least, to a minimal level.
Although I do believe your body is a temple to be used for God's glory, I can understand the addiction and weakness for it.  BUT, when it interferes with my air and stressful breathing then we have a problem.
I am thankful for non-smoking restaurants now but I would also prefer not to have to go thru the cloud of smoke by the front door to get in or out either.  I saw a photo of smoking vents used in Japan where the excess smoke went up and away, instead of permeating the nearby air of everyone. Where is the 'made in America' idea on this concept?  I don't know exactly how they work but I do like the idea of smokeless electronic cigarettes too.  As Woody the Owl says, 'Give a Hoot, don't pollute.'
May we all think about how all of our everyday actions may affect and compromise others in all shapes and forms.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
''Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.''

  1. I totally agree with you, Angie. I have never smoked and grew up in a smoke-free home. Inhaling cigarette smoke gives me a headache and makes me nauseous, and sometimes takes away my appetite (maybe that is not a bad thing, LOL). I can only imagine how difficult it is for you. Most of my friends who smoke are kind enough to smoke outside, even outside their own homes if I am visiting. I like your idea about the smoke going up, up and away. If we import everything else into our country, why can't we get something useful in that area?! Or come up with something like it? Another "vice" which totally compromises others in all shapes and forms is drinking while driving. But that would be for another post. Love you, my friend....and wishing you clean breathing! T.

  3. It would be nice if they could move away from the entrance in order to smoke. I think people just need to be more aware of how smoke affects others. My neighbors, who were retired and not in good health, couldn't be a in room where there were table decorations that included candles.

  4. If people can get over drug addiction and alcohol addiction, they should be able to get over smoking addiction. It's just as harmful to those around them as the other addictions, so, as my T shirt with the elephant on it says, "Stomp out smoking!"

  5. Amen! I don't understand why they put those ash stacks right by entry ways. Also, have you ever noticed the nurses smoking outside the hospital...never will understand that one.
