Understand It?

No, I don't understand why some things are the way they are.  You can just watch the news and see we have 'trials dark on every hand.'  Some people don't watch the news because they think it is too depressing and/or upsetting.  We must remember that 'we cannot understand all the ways God leads us to that blessed promised land.'  He uses examples of sin and consequence, obedience and blessings, and His faithfulness all around us.  Do we see it or turn a blind eye?  'He will guide us with His eye and we will follow till we die' should be our answer.  Yes, we are tested by temptations and the cruelty of the world and ask 'why Lord, why?'   I can't answer that for you but if you look back on your by-gone days, you may understand your past struggles 'better by and by.'
'God’s nature is not affected by time, place, people, or circumstances. He never makes a mistake in what He says or does, because His knowledge is perfect, His sovereignty is complete, and all is within His sight. Every promise is guaranteed in Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 1:20). For all our days, He’s the One we can count on.' [intouch.org]

  1. Knowing what you go through every day, this means a lot. Thanks, Angie.

  2. I have taken many tests for education during my life and passed some of them. Life is also a test to see if we can learn who we are (sinners), that there is forgiveness (prayer) and deliverance from our sin (Jesus) and ability to live our lives for eternity (faith). If we fail this test then we are doomed for all eternity. Another great blog, Angie,----Love You, Dad

  3. Everything is seen more clearly in retrospect. Won't it be such a joy when we see all things clearly someday in glory? All the things that seemed a trial or an annoyance will have had a perfect place in our lessons for eternity. Yes, He does teach us, doesn't he? And sometimes it "ain't" easy! Thank you for the good word once again.

  4. "Hindsight is 20-20", they say. And sometimes it is, but some things we will never understand this side of heaven. That is just how God meant it to be...He is the sovereign One and as Romans 8:28 states, "All things work together for His glory". Not always easy, sometimes extremely difficult. Just this week a dear friend of mine lost two close relatives....a beautiful young woman and her small daughter in a horrible car wreck. We don't know why these things happen, but someday we will. Praying I can pass my tests....and keep trusting my faithful God and King....in all my circumstances. Love you, T.
