Prayer

What if all we got was what we prayed for?  Would your prayer time increase and have more thought put into it?  God gives us so much that we just take for granted and call normal.  It is often when we lose something that we see our needs from a new perspective.
What you already have is on someone else's prayer list.  Prayer is the most important conversation of your day.  It is not just a request line but also a time to say thank you to the Giver of everything.  'The value of persistent prayer is not that He will hear us but that we will hear Him.'
So if you're bitter about unanswered prayers, maybe God is waiting for you to be thankful and useful with what you've been given thus far.  Sometimes an unanswered prayer is the best blessing you could get.  Trust in Him, not yourself.

  1. When I think back at some of the things that I have prayed for in the past, I am so thankful that God DID NOT answer them in the affirmative. He knows and answers according to His will, and I thank Him for that. Good reminder, Angie.

  2. Have you seen the quote, "What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for today." Not exactly theologically sound, but it does prompt me to give thanks for the things I tend to take for granted. So thankful that He knows our needs.

  3. He knows what we need....many times we only think we do. I have a friend who sometimes prays, "Thank you, Lord, for the things that don't happen to us." Oh to remember that all things work together for God and His glory. Love you, my sweet friend....T.
