Friday Visit

I am a people person and being with friends can always lift my spirits.  I am not a hermit or a recluse because I need social interaction, almost as much as I need air.  Today, Charlene was here for awhile and will return later.  Tori was here all day to keep me going.  Cathy drove over 40 minutes to come spend some needed catch up time visiting with me.  Facebook time is just not enough for us.  Then Betsy and her kids came over for some fun outdoor time.  I think Hank would've preferred the A/C but he got out voted.
Happiness is a choice and I it's an easy choice with friends like these.  Dale Carnegie says, 'Happiness doesn't depend on our external circumstances but on our mental attitude.'  Yes, that's true and I need reminded of that sometimes but it is a lot easier to be happy with friends around.

  1. I think the Bible says that to have friends, you must be a friend. (Somewhere in Proverbs maybe?) You have friends because you are one. To many. I never, ever drive away from your home without thanking God for sparing your life (on numerous occasions) It's purely selfish. I always go away thinking how much I would have missed if we had never become friends. You are teaching me a lot, mainly by example. And I still have a lot to learn.

  2. Um... Not "too many" friends.. I think that's unclear. I meant you are a friend to many people. (The teacher in me is coming out.)

  4. Your example of friendship and a giving heart cause others to want to be your friend, Angie. The Proverbs says that he who desires to have friends must prove himself friendly. And indeed, you prove yourself friendly on every occasion. Your smile is enough to win a heart! I, with Cathie, consider it an honor to be your friend.

  5. I was just thinking about this today. Nobody can "make" us happy. It is a choice we make to be happy or not to be happy. But, I'm with you. I choose happiness more readily when I'm surrounded by good friends. We need to get out there for a visit SOON!
