Worry

true

As much as I believe the quote above, sometimes you just can't help but worry.  Shouldn't we just be thankful, that whatever comes will be what God wants for us?  Our minds can know this, but what we doubt is whether we can handle or accept it.  There is good to be found in everything, so don't let your worry blind you from it.  May we fill our minds with thoughts of peace, courage, health, and hope, for "our life is what our thoughts make it."

How to break the worry habit before it breaks you........[found this on the internet by Dale Carnagie]

--Crowd worry out of your mind by keeping busy. Plenty of action is one of the best therapies ever devised for curing "wibber gibbers."
--Don't fuss about trifles. Don't permit little things--the mere termites of life--to ruin your happines.
--Use the law of averages to outlaw your worries. Ask yourself: "What are the odds against this thing's happening at all?"
--Co-operate with the inevitable. If you know a circumstance is beyond your power to change or revise, say to yourself: "It is so; it cannot be otherwise."
--Put a "stop-less" order on your worries. Decide just how much anxiety a thing may be worth--and refuse to give it anymore.
--Let the past bury its dead. Don't saw sawdust.

  1. I know we all worry about the future and what it hold, short term it will bother us and we stress over it. Long term things will work out good for the Christian, I have read the book we have been saved by Gods grace and nothing changes that. Eternity is what we look forward too. Don't worry, be happy. Happy, happy, happy..............Love you, Dad

  2. One thing I have noticed over the years; everything that came to pass, good or bad, worry did not change. Many years ago I sat down and personalized Phil.4:6-7, taking every word and making it mine. God has been gracious many times since then to use that passage in my life to give me His peace in troublesome situations. That's not to say that I never allow Satan to steal my joy by sneaking in worry, but many, many times I have been able to turn back to that passage. I put a date beside it in my Bible.

  3. You know I always need these posts on worry - one of my worst habits. So good to know that God is always in control! (and my worrying sure isn't going to stop something or make something happen - it just hurts me). Love you!

  4. I have found that most of the things we worry about never occur. So we have lost all that time and effort and energy on something that never even happened! How ridiculous is that?! Like Gloria, I have a verse that I call my comfort verse in times of hardship....James 1:2-5. We will have trials, some expected, some not....but if we find our joy and strength in Jesus, we will focus on Him and not the trial. Easier said than done sometimes, I know. Love your last sentence....don't saw the sawdust! Great advice! Love you, sweet friend....T.
