Parched
Today, I went to church without putting on my lipstick. My lips felt drier the more I thought about it. I think now that it's not so hot, it's safe to keep some emergency lipstick in my purse. Do you know that feeling of dry and without?
The verse above was from my daily Bible reading today also. It reminds us that if we ask the Lord then He will answer our pleas. There are so many people thirsty for the River of Life and yet all they see are the oasis giving false hope and disappointment. We are all needy for His Word but we must seek it. Just like dehydration affects our whole body's ability to function so does doing without the Word.
They say you should drink before you feel thirsty because if you wait, you are already dehydrated. Seek the Living Water and you will never thirst again.

Living Water flowing from a blog. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is true--so many dying without the Living Water when all they needed to do was ask and believe. Why do so many resist and insist on doing things their way instead of God's way? Mom
ReplyDeleteI pray that i will never stiop thirsting for thr Living Word. It is what gives life to a needy soul. Thanks, Angie.

The simple things in life are often the hardest for us to accept, especially when we don't have to work for them. Living water is a FREE gift. Well said, thanks. Dad
ReplyDeleteI love your last paragraph. We need to daily drink from the Living Water in order to get us through periods of drought. If we keep our bodies/minds filled, then we will be better prepared to face the trials. Thank you, Angie, for today's reminder to stay constantly in God's word. Love you, T.
ReplyDeleteGreat analogy...I like the comparison of drinking before you become dehydrated....and reading the Word before you become spiritually dehydrated....

Girl, I don't go anywhere without emergency lipstick! :) (well, I try not to, anyway). But, really, isn't God's word good. Life giving, and life sustaining.
