Be Brave

So many meaningless words in a day, time to start making each word count.

One of my friends told me, 'You write what I'm too afraid to say.'   2 Timothy 1;7  ''For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.''  We often shy away from subjects that make others and ourselves feel uncomfortable about, but that doesn't mean it's not worth talking about.  I don't mean in your face, down your throat bullying conversations either.  Gentle and thought provoking discussion should be on the level of your counterpart.
There is no question and answer that matters more than, 'If you died today, do you know where you'll spend eternity?'  Most people avoid this question, because they feel it's too personal to ask.  As a believer, it is up to you to speak the truth to others and help rid others of false ideas.  It is never left up to us to 'save' anyone, but we can lead others to Christ with our testimony, our conversations and our lives.
On another note, I also encourage 'real' conversation among your fellowship of believing friends.  We are all guilty of the 'How are you? Fine' conversation that ends there.  We need to know one another better so that we can actually have a heart that cares about one another's life issues.

  1. I have a friend who is never afraid to share the Gospel with anyone, I remember being nearby when she met a stranger and with in three minutes she was asking him if he was saved and if he knew where he would spend eternity. Many of us (including me) have to have a relationship and get to know another person before we will discuss God or any religious topic with someone. We are more about the weather and our favorite sport. We need to be bold and talk about God to everyone, the weather will change and sports fade away. Good Blog. Love you Dad

  2. Superior blog! Yes, we need to care about others and asking them the question about eternity can show you really care. Yes, many times we are too superficial in our conversations instead of really getting to know a person and being an encourager, comforter, support, or whatever. Mom

  3. How thankful I am that God led you into this blog, Angie. What a blessing to go here each day and be encouraged to be and do what God calls us to. Thank you, thank you.

  4. Our sermon was on this Sunday morning and about how this verse is really our battle cry, encouraging us to go out and witness to others instead of being held back by fear. Love it when God brings the same message through two different people at the same time!
