It's a God Thing
When we are used as a blessing to others, 'it's a God thing.' It is good to be blessed but even better is to be a blessing. I am often, if not daily, encouraged by the comments I get about my blogs. We are called to be a part of God's family, transform our character to be like His, and spread His Good News to others. You are a blessing anytime and in any way that you think about others before yourself and act upon it. Don't discount yourself either, small acts mean as much as big acts to God. It's all about how much heart you put into it.
May your focus be on being a blessing wherever you go. 1 Peter 3:9 ''Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.''
So true... You've expressed it well - we think we've been called to a lot of things but you've named the three most important things.
ReplyDeleteThis reminded me of that old hymn....Make Me a Blessing:
ReplyDelete(1) Out in the high-ways and by-ways of life,
Many are weary amd sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
Making the sorrowing glad.
CHORUS:
Make me a blessing, Make me a blessing --
Out of my life May Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray,
Make me a blessing to someone today.
(2) Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love,
Tell of His power to forgive;
Others will trust Him if only you prove
True, every moment you live.
(3) Give as 'twas given to you in your need,
Love as the Master loved you;
Be to the helpless a helper indeed,
Unto your mission be true.
You are indeed a BLESSING, Angie....pray to be one also. Love you, T.
The other day, Jim Elliff, on his facebook page, said, "I fear that before I die I will say, 'If only I had loved God and others more..'." I find myself already thinking that. Thanks for the great reminder to always seek to be a blessing to someone.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a blessing to many in your daily blogs, I would like to know how many readers you have, and further the readers may use your blogs in a teaching environment or they encourage others to pass on a blessing to someone else. Thank you for you daily blessing to me. Dad
ReplyDeleteAs always, thank you for that encouragement today! I always try to do that but it's easy to forget at times. Have a great foggy day (have you looked outside?) Autumn is really here!!!!!
