Just Right
Do you agree? We are all guilty of comparing ourselves with others and coveting their strong attributes. If you believe that God makes no mistakes, then that includes you. You were made with a divine purpose in mind.
As much as we want to hide our weaknesses, they are there to build our character. 'Men with good intentions make promises, but men with good character keep them.'
Romans 5:3-5 "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. "
I know personally that I would not be who I am today without my present and past sufferings. 'Character cannot be developed in quiet and ease. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved.'-Helen Keller
What's one man's junk is another man's treasure but to God we are all his precious treasures.
Coming from you, Angie, this means so much. Someone who has not endured great suffering could write this, and the words would be true nonetheless, but not spoken from the experience of a disciplined life.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter is memorizing Psalm 139 right now, and in verses 13-18 it says, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me,when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand."
That passage speaks "Angie." I praise God that He chose to place you right here where you are. (Sorry I wrote a book this morning.)
Isn't it AMAZING that there are billions of people in the world and not a single one of us is the same? Even our twin boys, who are "identical", are not truly identical. As you and Gloria stated, God made each of us with a divine purpose in mind. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! How exciting is that....that He loves us so much that He made us unique from everyone else. Not better, not worse...but different. We are to use that purpose to serve and glorify Him. You are the perfect example of that, Angie. Whether we are weak or strong, our heart's desire should be to glorify God. Those who have been through the fire are the ones whose testimony speaks the loudest and means the most, even though their voice/body may be weak. You are such proof of that. What an inspiration you are to all of us...and we love you, T.
ReplyDeleteI agree.....and I know God has a sense of humor.
