Trust
Where do you put your trust? The common denominator in this caption is 'Lord, I trust You.' I think many people trust that God will let them into heaven but His authority over them stops there. We want to trust in ourselves too much despite our repeated failures.
Do you trust God......
For all things.... God will supply all our needs. Job 10:12 'You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.'
With all things... God controls everything, even when He gives and takes away. Job 37; 23-24 'The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. Therefore, people revere him, for does he not have regard for all the wise in heart?”
In all things... God will never forsake us. He takes care of everything.. the birds, the flowers, the weather, and the list is endless, and includes you. Psalm 23;4 'Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.'
Through all things... God will bring you through it, if He brought you to it. Psalm 23;6 'Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.'
Above all things... God should be your Vision and the only Ruler of your heart. Luke 16:13
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
A verse that I have been meditating on during my walks is found in Hebrews 13, "For He has promised,
ReplyDelete'I will never leave you nor forsake you.' So we can confidently say, "God is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" (Pretty good verse to meditate on after my comment about fear, huh?)
I Really liked that devotion on trust. Thanks. Randy
ReplyDeleteThat is so good, thanks for your hard study Angie.

What else can man do? Trust and obey that's it. Dad
ReplyDeleteProv 3:5-6 has been my life verse. But, I can honestly say it isn't always an easy thing for me. But so thankful that the One we serve is trustWORTHY.
ReplyDeleteI learned Proverbs 3:5-6 when I was a child. It was the scripture verse for our 4-H club. I have repeated it so many times in my life, seeking His direction for my paths. If I can truly say, "I trust you, Jesus" in every circumstance, and really mean it, I know my reaction/response to every situation would be what God would have it to be....and not what I would do. Praying for that....love you, T.
