Body and Soul
Which do you consider stronger, your body or your soul? To which do you invest more time and thought into? These are important questions to ask yourself when you think about eternity. The weaker my body gets, the more I feel like a soul-being. It means I look beyond my physical strength and look more for my inner strength. 'Physical strength is measured by what we can carry. Inner strength is measured by what we can bear.'
Soul strengthening comes best from God's word. It is truthful, encouraging, reassuring and never changes. The soul is also nourished when we help others. It is a command to put others above ourselves.
How much better would we feel if we spent equal time on both the body and soul? ''What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?'' Mark 8:36
May all that you encounter today with your body, be well with your soul.
Wow. Great reminder! Thanks Angie.

You have a great perspective on life, so many people go to extra ordinary levels like organ transplants and whatever else they can do to get a few more days out of this body and never concern themselves with the soul. I am glad you know what's important. Love You, Dad.
ReplyDeleteMy soul is encouraged every time I am with you, and every time I read your blog. And my body is thrilled that it is still able to come see you and to be exhorted by you. How grateful to God am I that He saved my soul from eternal darkness and to forever with Him in glory.
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder to store up our treasures in heaven. We get so caught up in this world, and as the scripture says, "It is but a breath." Soul strength - love that.
ReplyDeleteThe older I get, the weaker my physical body becomes. Yet, our inner strength can grow stronger every day, if we simply make the choice to go to the source. Love you, T.
