Way Back Wednesday..... Someday
Do you ever see things and think someday I'd like to have this? This is a picture from 1995 when my mom and I took a trip to Oregon. This was one of our overnight stops and I thought the place was pretty cool. See the handle on the wall? That was the murphy-style drop down bed. How cool is that, you wouldn't even need to make the bed. The place was also on ocean front property with large dome-like rocks nearby. There is just a relaxing feeling you get from the ocean. It's been said, 'no matter how many times it is rejected, the water keeps kissing the shore.'
I'm happy enough with my home here on earth. I guess it's never too early to make plans for my eternal home. Although, I know my thoughts are way simpler than what He has in store for me.
it will be better than Oregon

It looks like a neat place - good memories! I love that quote - have never heard it before about the ocean. Me - I might be a brook but not persistent enough in the face of rejection to keep kissing the shore...
ReplyDeleteI don't think God has Murphy style bed in place for you, nor do I think you will have to make your bed each day.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a place "out of this world". Dad
One of my favorite contemporary songs is, I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me. Sometimes when I think of heaven, I can only imagine what God has in store for us who love Him. I think, as you said, our thoughts of the future life are so limited that we can "only imagine."
ReplyDeleteI have never heard that quote before either, and you know how I am about quotes! Love them. And isn't it neat that no matter how many times we keep pushing God away...trying to do things on our own....He keeps coming back time after time to help us. That quote makes me think of His love and devotion for us..."I will never leave nor forsake you." And, like your dad says, heaven is going to be "out of this world"....can't wait...and like Gloria says, "we can only imagine". Love you...gotta go now and make my bed....it's not a Murphy! T.
ReplyDeleteI still think Murphy beds are too cool! And, I want to go to Oregon so bad. It looks beautiful. But, nothing will compare with our eternal home. I can't even begin to imagine the beauty!
ReplyDeleteLove Murphy beds!
