Want to Change Yourself?
“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator.
Does a clay pot argue with its maker?
Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying,
‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’
Does the pot exclaim,
‘How clumsy can you be?’ Isaiah 45;9
Do you ever feel like you want to change yourself? Too short, too tall, too skinny, too fat? Too whatever and not enough of something else? The verse above reminds us to not question but to be thankful for exactly how He made each of us. The chihuahua above apparently thought he needed more hair than God gave him on his little head. It's a funny picture but reminds me of pictures of people after plastic surgery sometimes. I think, oh yea that is not what God intended.
Personally, I could question my small size. I've weighed the same since 8th grade. I think the people who have to lift me now are just grateful that I don't weigh more. Even tho I can see a purpose in my weight issue [which isn't really an issue with me], I must see all my short-comings in the same way.. with purpose.
Be proud of who you are and how you were made. Some of us have brains while others have brawn, but we all have beauty.
You said it so well. We all have beauty and purpose in God's eyes. Mom
ReplyDeleteAmen! I love this post...need it plastered on my fridge for myself and my girls.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Angie. And, yes, there are many things about myself that I have, at times, wished were different. And just think how many people wish they weighed now what they weighed in the eighth grade, LOL!!! But as you said, God made us in our very own unique way....mind and body....to serve others and glorify Him. The important thing is how we USE our bodies, not how they LOOK. We can bring glory to Him, and we do, by being His children....in all sizes, colors, shapes and forms. Inside beauty is the best!! Love you, BEAUTIFUL sweet friend, T.
ReplyDeleteI'm sending this way so I don't lose it! What a wonderful word for the day! This is going to be a part of my devotional on Friday for the tea party. Thanks for the inspiration.
