1 Corinthians 2;9 ''“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”--
and what no human mind has conceived”--
the things God has
prepared for those who love him''
When we say 'I wouldn't have missed it for the world', we are expressing how much something means to us. We are stating that it is a priority above everything else. We would forgo any other pull at our hearts to be there.
Is that how you feel about heaven? Is it important enough to you to pass on worldly pleasures that are temporary for the eternal gain? First, you have to believe in a heaven that is promised but yet unseen at the moment. Secondly, you have to make heaven a goal that is worth obtaining in your life. Thirdly, you must trust in His promises beyond your own understanding.
This world is not our home, we are just passing through. If you've never been to Antartica, how do you know it is for real? You've been told and believe it to be true. Heaven, without pictures, is the same way. We've been told about it in the Bible, but we have to trust in our belief in it to not miss it for this world.
John 3;16-17 ''For God so loved
the world that he gave
his one and only Son,
that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For
God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.''
It's going to be great. I hope our dwelling places are close to each other when we get There. Meanwhile, keep blogging!
ReplyDeleteExcellent blog. Great scriptures and great examples and comparisons. Mom
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be "out of this world". Great blog, I would like to know more about your insights of heaven. Dad
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie, for loving so much that you are willing to sacrifice your time to encourage others to follow Truth.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this one! Two of my favorite "sayings"....Heaven....don't miss it for the world, and This is not my home...I'm just a-passing through. Such a great reminder for us to keep things in perspective and, as your Dad stated, "heaven is going to be out of this world". Love that. I hope your mansion is right beside mine! Love you, sweet eternal friend, T.
