43 years ago today, my parents tied the knot in Greenbrier, AR. They met at the Baptist Student Union at UCA playing ping pong. The night my dad planned to ask my mom to marry him, the car broke down and disrupted his plan. The ring was burning a hole in his pocket and he couldn't wait so he just asked her anyway.
They look so young, huh? Yes, you can do the math, 18 and 19. You don't make it this far without commitment thru all the hurdles that life brings.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my parents today.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pictures of this very young couple! Happy, happy anniversary to your wonderful parents, Angie!! They told us that engagement night story when we went riding with them recently up to where your mom grew up....saw the church....etc. What a beautiful homeplace and surrounding area. She had some other stories to tell us as well...and you know how much I LOVE stories!! You have been truly BLESSED by some very committed and devoted parents, not only to their Lord and Savior, but to their precious daughter, too! And look what a BLESSING you are to them! Hope it is a happy day for all....bet y'all go out to eat somewhere....LOL! Love you, T.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to your parents on their anniversary. They've done well!
ReplyDeleteI remember that, it was a long time ago. Dad
ReplyDelete43 years--where have they gone. Some difficult ones seemed to never end and others just flew by. I thank the Lord for blessing us in so many ways and helping us through the difficult times. It has been an interesting journey thus far. We thought we knew a whole lot more than we did back then; we can look back and see, we had a lot to learn--and were still learning. Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteGood picture. Boy, how time flies!
