Who Am I?
1 Chronicles 16;16-17 “Who am I, Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, my God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant.'' Have you ever thought about this prayer of David's for yourself? He not only has blessed our lives here but has our eternal home in place too. I think of the lyrics, 'what can we give to you oh God for everything you've given to us?' We are so blessed and yet we are so ready to throw a pity party when a little hardship arrives. As the caption above states He is always there to save you from both the seen and unseen dangers of this life.
The answer to those first lyrics is 'we offer our lives to you oh God for everything you've given to us.' God gets great joy when we use our lives to fulfill His purposes. His peace will cover our anxious thoughts when we doubt our abilities to do what we've been called to do. Isn't it a good feeling to sing 'His love endures forever,' when you can truly believe it, feel it, enjoy it and share it in your life?
So when you ask 'Who am I?' remember that you are one of His sheep and the Shepard is with you, even with the wolves all around.
You have definitely offered your life to Him and He is using it, no small thing!
ReplyDeleteThe message today at church was on worry -- Just stop it! We are promised many things by the Lord and when we start to worry we need to turn it over to Him to guide us and give us peace. Easy to know; not always easy to follow as so many times we want to control our destiny. We will be so much better if we let Him control out destiny. You are right, He is always there for us! Mom
ReplyDeleteBeen trying to honor Him and give jOY back to Him with my recent ministry to a couple that really needs Him to be first in their marriage. To Glorify Him in everything I do with them and everyone involved in a situation that could have be so devastating. Please pray for them and me. My life is not dull and maybe sometimes it takes a solitary life to point out some things people need to know.
ReplyDeleteGod is good all the time, and all the time God is good let's not forget. We move closer to Him and away from Him on a daily basis, He is constant. Dad
