I've dedicated myself to reading the Bible in a year with the online schedule that does 4 sections; the OT, the NT, Psalms and Proverbs. So far I've done pretty well in keeping up to date. Today, I realized I was three days behind..uhoh. I've had a couple of hours of quiet time to myself today and realized this was my opportunity to catch up. Sure I could have watched tv or taken a nap or done countless other things but sometimes you have to make priorities on what's important and of value to you.
The world won't stop without you so go ahead and shut it out for a little while. Even Jesus went away to be alone with God on occasion.
Good girl, Angie. I'm so proud that a number of people at church are going through the Bible in a year. I missed a day last month, but thankfully Leap Year helped me out!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that old saying, "This book will keep you from the world, or the world will keep you from this book." You are so right about priorities. He is always there....He does not go away....He is available to us....through His word, we can choose (or not) to be with Him at any time. Thank you so much for being so inspiring and so encouraging to me. I love your blogs....they are always full of wisdom and good advice. Keep 'em coming! Love you, Twylia
ReplyDeleteAngie , good Monday morning to you! I had to catch up on some of my reading too. I enjoyed your last two writings. Thanks for taking the time to write these. Have a great day! Joel
